Zhejiang entrepreneurs and companies will play an important role in promoting China’s modernization, according to officials and experts in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province.

He spoke at the 6th World Zhejiang Entrepreneurship Conference on Friday, gathering more than 700 participants, including business leaders, overseas Zhejiang businessmen, Fortune 500 representatives and academics.

“Private enterprises will help promote the quality development of the Chinese economy and the modernization of China through their own quality development,” said Shi.
The largest event of its kind, the World Zhejiang Entrepreneurship Convention, has been held every two years since its inception in 2011. The sixth edition, originally scheduled for 2021, has been postponed to this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
