YouTube is testing the queue system for iPhone and Android apps.

YouTube has started testing its queuing system on iOS and Android. This feature has been available on the web for years and appears in the YouTube app under certain circumstances. Anyone who controls his Chromecast on their phone or uses the YouTube Music app may be aware of this feature. Opting into testing allows you to add videos to stacks that act like temporary playlists.

Once you’ve turned this feature on (we’ll show you how to do that in a moment), you’ll see a new[キューの最後を再生]You will have access to the button. Tap it and the video will be added to the bottom of the queue. Or, if you’re not currently watching a video, a new queue will be created. When the video you are watching finishes, the app will start playing the next video in the queue and continue playing to the end. You can also rearrange and remove videos in your queue. Closing the player by completely exiting the app or tapping the ‘x’ button in the bottom bar will clear the queue (although the app may warn you before doing so).

When I opened the app on December 24th, I saw a screen saying I could now test this feature and a button to turn it on. This test isn’t necessarily a sign that free users will be able to queue up videos anytime soon — YouTube’s picture-in-picture test for iOS is months before the feature rolls out. Finished. I’ve also noticed that this feature isn’t exactly polished so far. The app failed to add the video to the queue at one point. Still, I’m thrilled to have this feature on my phone. It’s something I use on my desktop almost every day, and the fact that it’s become the testbed for YouTube Premium hopes that one day I’ll be able to rely on it in the app as well.
