DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Ryan Young came off the bench to score a season-high 20 points, Jalen Blakes scored 17 points in his first career start, and No. 17 Duke played Saturday at Florida State. defeated 86-67.
Young, who joined from Northwestern, had 12 rebounds.
Reserve Darik Whitehead added 16 points to an eight-game undefeated Duke (11-3, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) at home.
Darrin Green Jr. and Matthew Cleveland both scored 18 points while Caleb Mills added 16 points for Florida State (4-11, 2-2).
Sophomore Blakes won 4 of 11 baskets from Duke’s 3-point range, playing for the first time since their December 20 loss at Wake Forest.
The Seminoles were within 64-53 with less than nine minutes to play before the margin ballooned to 25 points.
Duke used a 10-0 run near the halfway mark in the first half to lead 42-25 at halftime behind 12 points from Young and 11 from Blakes. Three of the Blue Devils’ starters did not score in the first half, and another Jeremy Roach was 7–1 off the field.

FLORIDA: The Seminoles were competitive in the stretch but had gaps in defensive rebounding that proved costly. They scored only 8 points from the reserves while Duke posted 46 points from bench players.
Duke: Blue Devils has been aggressive from the start, but needed a boost off the bench to get a comfortable margin in this game. This was his second game for Duke since his December 10th, but the rest of the season has been steady.
