Boone, North Carolina – Old Dominion’s women’s basketball is set to begin play for the Sun Belt Conference this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at App State. James Madison will host his ODU on Saturday at 2pm.
Both games will be streamed on ESPN+, and fans will also be able to hear Matthew Hatfield call out on the ODU Sports Radio network. Live stats are also available.

ODU is 2-0 when playing App State. The two programs first met on November 30, 1988, with ODU at home, where he won 85–65. Then ODU won App State last December 18, where he won 85-49. ODU has two players averaging double-digit scores. Amari Young Earn 10.5 points per game, Jordan McLaughlin 10.0 points per outing.right behind them Makeira Dickens (9.5ppg) and Kay Clark (9.2ppg). Dickens made his team-high 21 3-point shots, followed by Clark with his 16. Young led the team with his 102 rebounds (7.8 rpg) and McLaughlin recorded his team-high 48 assists. On defense, Young and Jackson combined he had 17 blocks. Clarke ranks seventh nationally in steals (40) and he ranks 15th in steals per game (3.08).
As a team, ODU are averaging 63.7 points per game, 3.9 points ahead of their opponents. The Monarchs are shooting .382 from the field (307 vs. 803), .273 from across the arc (65 vs. 238), and .634 at the free throw line (149 vs. 235). ODU also ranks 21st nationally in forced turnovers per game (21.92) and he ranks 31st in steals per game (11.1).

After a close 72-70 loss at North Carolina Central on December 15, the Mountaineers (4-7) lost 77-49 at 19 Michigan on December 17. On 20 December he had an 87–81 home win against Gardner Webb. The Dukes (10-2) were the only other Sun Belt team to rank in the top 25 polls of the mid-major, finishing 12th thanks to a seven-game winning streak. JMU concluded its non-conference schedule with the Saint Joseph’s Hawk Classic on December 20-21. After his 78-43 victory over eastern Michigan on Tuesday, JMU beat the hosts 78-66 on Wednesday.
Kseniia Kozlova was named Sun Belt Player of the Week yesterday after earning MVP honors at the Hawk Classic. She scored her 18 points in both games, marking a career high for the Moscow, Russia native. Kiki Jefferson has won his Belt Weekly title twice this season, and he leads the Dukes with 18.3 points per game. Peyton McDaniel continues with his 11.2 points per game and is a serious threat to the team as he scored 29 3-pointers on the field. Jefferson is also the leading rebounder with 7.8 boards per game, and her 35 assists tie her lead on the team alongside Caroline Germond. Claire Neff supports the defensive effort with 14 steals and 8 blocks.
Dukes enters the week at number 81 in the NET rankings. They also rank 11th in the nation in rebounding margin (12.2), 16th in field goal percentage (34.3), 19th in defensive rebounds per game (30.2), and 23rd in rebounds per game (43.75). JMU owns a +15.0 score margin, averaging 71.8 points per game. The team is shooting .425 from the field (308 vs. 725), .323 from long range (81 vs. 251), and .695 on the line (164 vs. 236).
JMU was voted sixth with 130 points in the Sunbelt preseason coaches’ poll, and Jefferson was named to the preseason second team.

ODU will host ULM at the conference game on January 5th at 6:30pm. The Monarchs will then welcome South Her Alabama at Chartway Arena for his Jan. 7 2:00 p.m. meeting.
