First, it was Zoom live video conferencing that literally changed the way businesses and businesses meet and collaborate. A new technology, now in the form of an app, is aimed at transmitting holographic-type images using only smartphones.
Beem is a smartphone app for both Android and iOS devices that allows senders to “beam” themselves into a message displayed at the home or work of the recipient of the message.
Remember when Princess Leia from Star Wars sent a hologram of herself via R2D2?
Here’s how it works:
In the Beem app, senders record video messages. Currently he is a 15 second message. It is important to place your phone on a stable surface such as a desk or use a tripod for your phone.
If you’re in the camera frame where the person recording the message is standing, it’s also effective to record from the feet to the top of the head.
Record a message through your camera, and when you’re happy with it, tap a button to send the video “to the metaverse” as the app describes it. Once processed, Beam can be sent via text message, social media post, or email.
Recipients of your message simply tap the link to give Beem permission to use your camera, microphone, and gyroscope on your phone. Recipients don’t need to have her Beem app installed on their phone.
When the message is received and permission is granted, the surroundings of the recipient will be displayed on the screen. When you tap the floor he will Beem play and video her message as if the person was standing in front of you.
Beem was released in February 2022. Beem has big plans for this technology and hopes to offer two-way video messaging in the future. Now you can record and send Beem messages and post them to social media or QR code links. If you have a green screen, you can send live video messages.
I had a few issues. When the app was first released, it only took a few minutes to process a video. I recently noticed that even just processing a video can take hours. Apps are updated regularly and you can find his Beem app on both the Google Play Store for Android devices and his Apple’s App Store for iPhones.
