Vevo is joining the hip-hop anniversary celebration. The Music Video Network teams artists across genres for expert and original content.
artists including A$AP Rocky, General, cypress hill, de la soul, lil wayne, Ludacris, mischief by nature, Salton Pepa When public enemy Tapped into a special edition of either Vevo Footnotes or Vevo ctrl.
The network will also celebrate with a special showing different facets of hip-hop. Legends In Concert, Hip-Hop International, 2K Hip-Hop Legends, Rock Meets Rap, 70’s Sampled Songs and ’80’s Sampled Songs will air this year.
Vevo’s celebration kicks off with Chuck D.‘s Footnotes episode gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at Public Enemy. Spike Lee・Directed the music video “Fight the Power”.
“Hip-hop turning 50 means there is no doubt, no debate, no ignorance about the impact hip-hop has on the world,” Chuck said of the hip-hop milestone anniversary. “When physical education came along, it was before social media. Videos were the only way to connect with hip-hop fans around the world. I delivered the song with a really underrated art form.”
