“Growth in 2023 is expected to be driven by increased digital spending. This category will take the lead over traditional media. What I’m saying is that the likes of Google, Meta and Facebook are certainly going to have flat to small growth years, but the increase is really expected from new entrants. These are what we call retail media and streaming services, two categories that traditionally have advertising as both their primary and secondary source of revenue. No, but we have a huge audience, they’ve amassed a lot of first-party data, and they have a lot of money to invest in the platform,” Spade said. “On the streaming side, we think of things like Netflix and Disney Plus coming to market with ad-based solutions.
