new orleans – Tulane head football coach Willie Fritz formally announced on Tuesday the promotion of Slade Nagle to the positions of the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.
Nagle just completed his seventh season as the Green Wave’s tight end coach in 2022, during which he also served as the program’s assistant head coach.
The Green Wave had a magical 2022 season, going 12-2 overall in the program and 7-1 in AAC play. The team clinched his first AAC regular season and conference championship titles with a thrilling 46-45 win over USC at the Cotton Bowl on January 2nd.
In 2022, Tulane’s offensive unit ranks first in the AAC for fewest interceptions thrown (5), tackles for losses (4.64), passing efficiency (160.48), second in passing yards per completion (13.74), and rushing He was third on offense (204.8). ) and scoring offense (36.0), turnover margin (.36), fourth in first down offense (303), possession time (29:39), completion percentage (63.6), and red zone offense (86.8). 6th, 7th in sacks (2.07) and 9th in passing yards (236.6). A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Nagle set school acceptance records at Barb High School, earning all-state and all-district (three times) honors. He left high school to sign with Clemson and played as a freshman before transferring to McNeice. His father, John, is a state college and high school level veteran football coach.
