spam clock
In 2011, startup search engine Blekko started the spam clock. That year he was estimated to have created 155 million spam pages since January 1st. According to Blekko, he gets one million spam pages created every hour.
How serious was Google’s spam problem back then? However, as Danny Sullivan pointed out at the time, it was difficult to tell whether Google’s relevance actually declined.
- We expect more from Google than we used to, and we’re looking for things we might not have before
- I don’t remember every successful search. We are focused on when things get worse.
- Perhaps do a comparison check of Bing or Blekko to see if they perform well, or use these services regularly to see if they are “failing” as much as they feel Google is doing. We do not ask for confirmation.
- Expect more from Google.
For more information, see Blekko launches spam clock to keep pressure on Google.
About a month later, Google will start working to fix the issues it perceives to be more relevant with the Panda update.
I don’t want to think about how much spam has been created since the beginning of spam. this Years – especially with the ChatGPT explosion.
