Milwaukee — Madeline Anderson knows that the Old Milwaukee skyline is a fan-favorite exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

Many structures along the streets of Old Milwaukee have been incorporated into the current museum building. This poses a bit of a problem for the museum, which will move into a new building on N. 6th St. and W. McKinley Ave at the end of 2026.
“This is a new building and we can’t take all these small businesses and homes as they are,” Anderson said.
Exhibits will not disappear.
The museum could not share specific details, but Anderson said a similar exhibit will exist at the new museum under a different name.
“This feeling, immersion, walk-through diorama will carry over into the museum, exploring Milwaukee history, Milwaukee culture and Milwaukee nature,” said Anderson. “It’s so immersive and old he can walk through it like it’s the streets of Milwaukee.”
