Textile entrepreneurs have been discussing key issues to bring stability to the industry, with a view to lowering cotton prices and transportation costs, industry insiders said.
Here, about 120 spinning mill managing directors took part in an interactive session, discussing various issues such as cotton prices and freight rates, according to the event’s organizer, India’s Texpreneurs Federation.
Sharing benchmark figures on productivity, cost-saving techniques and best practices regularly adopted to improve manufacturing were some of the key points discussed, said ITF convener Prabhu Dhamodharan.
Andhra Pradesh Textile Mills Association, Telangana Spinning and Textile Mills Association, Spinners Association, Gujarat and ITF participated in the event.
Yarn and fabric market information regarding market trends and quality parameters, as well as domestic and export markets, were also discussed as “common cooperation issues between the associations,” he said.
Exploring and sharing knowledge to add value to the spinning sector, research on domestic and global trends in ‘textiles and fashion’ were also discussed during the conference, he said.
