TCU taps Arkansas' Kendall Briles as offensive coordinator

Less than a week after Garrett Riley left TCU to take up the position of offensive coordinator at Clemson, the Horned Frogs have found a replacement for him.

Kendall Briles, who has been Arkansas’ offensive coordinator/quarterback coach since 2020, is leaving to become TCU’s offensive coordinator, according to ESPN.

Under Briles’ leadership, the Razorbacks averaged 32.5 points per game in 2022, ranking sixth in the SEC and 35th nationally. In 2019, before Briles took his OC position, Arkansas averaged less than 22 points per contest.

Prior to arriving in Arkansas, Briles made stops in Florida (2019), Houston (2018), Florida Atlantic (2017) and Baylor (2008-16).

Briles now joins one of the top offensive minds in college football for Sonny Dykes in his second season at Fort Worth. Dykes helped lead TCU to a memorable 2022 season, including joining the Horned Frogs in his 65-7 loss to Georgia in his playoff National Championship in college football. TCU will have to replace several key offensive weapons, including quarterback Max Duggan, running back Kendre Miller and receiver Quentin Johnston.

The Horned Frog offense averaged 38.8 points per game last season. big 12 9th among all FBS teams.
