Strathmore, CA (KFSN) — A South Valley business owner was hit by a flood and all his equipment was damaged.
Ubaldo Sanchez was in tears when he shared how this latest storm has affected his family’s business, Strathmore Ag Supply.
“This has been our safe haven. Everything we want to keep safe is here,” Sanchez said.
His family has owned the land for over 40 years and has worked on it for over 20 years.
Sanchez says the water never reached the facility.
He says the loss is financially devastating.
“All these tools that we have now, all these supplies, that’s a million dollars plus a loss,” Sanchez explained.
Sanchez said the family business serves and employs more than 800 people.
Now everything hangs on deck as I try to regain what my family can do.
With more storms approaching this weekend, Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol will be manning crews around the clock to keep people safe on the roads.
California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Salas says people should stay home, but be careful if you have to drive.
“If possible, slow down, wear your seatbelt and remove distractions,” Salas said.
Sanchez and his brother are working to assess the damage and clean up the store.
The brothers are trying to save whatever they can to keep the business going.
We are told it will take months to put everything back together.
