Spring Street International School won the 2022 Bronze Inspired School Marketers Brilliance Award this week for its admissions video. The Brilliance Awards are sponsored by InspireED School Marketers, a community that provides “brilliant ideas and brainfood” to private school administrators around the world.
Entries were judged by a volunteer panel of 71 marketing professionals from around the world who are experts in private schools or companies specializing in private school marketing. Entries were scored on originality, persuasiveness, copy/script/dialogue, visual elements, execution, and overall appeal.
The video, “In a Word,” was created by Orcas Island filmmaker Kyle Carver of Free Road Films after a three-day shoot last spring at the Spring Street campus. This unscripted film is a candid look at Spring Street International School through the words of its students and faculty.
“We have a tradition of giving each senior a word at the graduation ceremony that summarizes its essence,” says principal Louis Prusak. “My word for Spring Street, which the film captures perfectly, is, ‘He changes one relationship at a time.’ I know it’s 7 words, but sometimes I break the rules. ”
As one of the competition judges commented, “‘In a Word’ is educational, stimulating, and fun. It takes convincing to send your child to school far away (adventure!).” There’s no doubt about it, the actual video showcases the school’s USP in a practical and authentic way, subtly telling the school’s academic story. Awesome!”
