Vintage coins, silver bars and sports trading cards from legends such as Michael Jordan, Walter Payton and Shaquille O’Neal are among the 400 unclaimed properties to be auctioned online next week.
The auction will run February 6-10 and is sponsored by an Illinois state accounting firm. Other items for sale include Rolex watches, foreign currency and 1833 Carson City Morgan Silver Dollars.
“Online auctions offer a great opportunity for people to find and acquire memorable items,” said Illinois Treasury Secretary Michael Frericks. for,” he said. “The auction is online, so you can participate from home or wherever you like.”
Some rings, necklaces, silver, gold and vintage postcards are also for sale.
A pile of 400 items is from an unclaimed safe deposit box that was turned over to the state after a private entity tried to contact the owner for several years. The items that are auctioned are usually ones that the owner hasn’t touched in her ten years.

All auction proceeds will be kept for their rightful owners, according to the accounting firm.
