Waukesha, Wisconsin. — Today, the women’s center in Waukesha has been boosted in its efforts to help victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
Spectrum has announced a $10,000 donation to The Women’s Center through its national community philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants.
“It’s very effective,” said Angela Mancuso, executive director of the Women’s Center. So they can focus on their own well-being and the next steps to take.”
The center provides transitional living and housing assistance, community education and violence prevention. rape crisis response; employment coaching and life skills development; All free for clients.
“Wawukesha County appreciates the work of the Women’s Center in providing victims of domestic violence with a safe place and the resources they need as they strive for healing,” said Paul, Waukesha County. Spectrum’s Employee Community Grants Program allows employees to nominate worthy non-profit organizations to continue their work in their local communities.
Stephanie Zucker, Spectrum Enterprise Sales Account Manager, is an on-call advocate for the Women’s Center, providing after-hours advocacy and emergency transportation for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
“We really appreciate Spectrum providing this grant to the Women’s Center because we see firsthand what survivors need,” said Zacher. “This is a really great partnership and I am very happy to work for a company that values their community.”
Since its launch in July 2019, Spectrum Employee Community Grants have funded more than 350 local nonprofits in 31 states across the company’s service areas. In Wisconsin, to date, he has distributed over $104,000 in grants.
