Spanish police in Málaga have dismantled a criminal group dedicated to the exploitation of the labor force and the unfair regulation of illegal immigrants (mainly Moroccans).
The operation arrested 43 people of various nationalities, including the group’s leader.
As shown in a video released by the National Police, agents broke into and raided four homes in the province of Málaga, seizing over €50,000 in cash and a wealth of documents.
At least seven agricultural companies are believed to have been involved in labor exploitation schemes. These companies presented immigrants without residence and work permits to the administration under the identities of others, normalized in Spain.
Some of the migrants were housed in subhuman conditions in housing provided by the organization. The image shows a room with dilapidated walls and a small single bed.
These companies also gave immigrants fake contracts with payments of €1,500 to €3,000. In this way, they normalize their situation, pay social security contributions,
Spain is an important gateway to Europe for illegal immigrants from Africa. In 2022, more than 31,200 people entered the country without a permit. However, this is 25% less than the previous year.
