The grant prize of $20,000 was awarded to her UPG Biashara Entrepreneur Mirriam Margret Mothibe from Botswana. Mirriam Margret Mothibe She is the founder of I 99 Farms, doing business in the agriculture and poultry industry. She is passionate about agribusiness and has acquired skills related to it. Mariatu Gbassay Kanu, a UPG Biashara Certified Entrepreneur in Sierra Leone, won the US$5,000 Diamonds Do Good.^® start-up subsidy. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Resilient Empowerment and Advocacy of Life Skills (REAL). “This grant will help us secure a larger working space, additional equipment and production materials. Part of the funding will be used to train our marketing team, train a single mother on napkin production, and train her on booklet printing. It can be used for ICT skills” -Mariatu Gbassay Kanu

UPG Biashara Entrepreneur Mohamed A Kamala, also from Sierra Leone, is proud of his country after winning the US$5,000 Diamonds Do Good.^® start-up subsidy. He is the co-founder and CEO of the Freetown Innovation Lab. Mohamed is a Master of Philosophy student at the University of Sierra Leone. His passion lies in the development, design and manufacture of small-scale renewable energy systems built from recycled materials, to provide access to permanent and sustainable power based on solar and wind turbine systems.
