West Alice, Wisconsin — Frigid temperatures combined with snow and high winds kept the Milwaukee area tow truck companies busy.
Speedy Peedy Towing and Recovery in West Allis answered more than 40 calls within eight hours in Southeast Wisconsin on Friday. They helped with towing, jump starting the car, winching out the car and calling emergency services for accidents.
Jeff Blaha is one of the tow truck drivers who answered the phone.
Blaha said in the last two days he has jump-started cars and towed other cars that have crashed due to snow and high winds.
“That got the job done. I think I’m going to put it a little broadly, but it’s what we have to do to make sure people are happy and to take care of them safely as soon as possible. As much as possible.” Blaha said.
Even a tow truck driver with 30 years of experience said there was nothing he wanted to do in such extreme cold conditions.
“I just come here and do my job and try to have fun. .
Blaha also noted that when the tow truck has its lights flashing, it’s important for the driver to move to the side of the tow truck so he can answer the phone as soon as possible.
