Rowan EDC Hires New Marketing and Communications Manager

Salisbury — The Rowan Economic Development Council has hired Molly Roof as the organization’s new marketing and communications manager.
She joins the Rowan EDC team after working for the past 6+ years. At Miller Davis, Inc., he was Director of Digital Services. Ruf recently relocated to Miami, Florida, where he will replace Jay Garneau.
During his time at Miller Davis, Ruf worked for EDC for many years. When she heard that there was a job opening for her, she decided to apply for it.
“I really enjoyed working with everyone in this office. They’re a really great group of people,” said Ruf. I wanted to focus my energies on one client instead.”
Raf, who grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, moved to Rowan County in 2009 with then-boyfriend and now-husband JR Kessler after graduating from Florida Southern College. Her husband moved here to work in motorsport, so Ruf decided to move in with him.
The couple settled in Rowan County and in 2020 purchased a home on 17 acres and a pond in West Rowan. They live with her three dogs, Peanut, Snoopy, and a new puppy, Linus.
“We’ve both embraced Rowan County wholeheartedly. We love it here and it’s a great place to live. The people here are so nice and we really recommend it to anyone.” Ruf said.
Rafe said he misses home, but he can’t imagine going home. With that said, she is still a Kansas City Chiefs football her fan and also a Kansas City Royals baseball fan.
She has a long history of coming to EDC and working with various Rowan County economic development partners, even working during the Miller Davis era. She has overseen countless projects including Rowan County’s rebranding efforts. She has been integral to the creation and ongoing management of the Your Rowan campaign since its launch in 2018.
Her duties at EDC include oversight of all aspects of marketing and advertising, newsletter creation, print and digital advertising. Ruf will also be responsible for developing her media presence on EDC’s social media and preparing her written and visual content. She will increase the brand and visibility of Rowan Her EDC by developing and implementing marketing her programs that support the organization’s efforts to attract business and talent to Rowan County and provide expansion services to existing businesses. continue.
“I have made so many connections in the community through my various jobs, especially through my time at Miller Davis. “I’m excited to make it better. Help our community and Rowan County thrive and continue to thrive,” Raf said. I am now thrilled to be directly part of it.”
Ruf’s official first day at EDC was December 30th.
Previously, she was Promotions Director for Downtown Salisbury, Inc. for three years. Prior to that she worked in Mooresville where she was an assistant to the creative team at Midan Marketing and in Charlotte where she worked in the education department at Blumenthal Performing Arts.
In addition to her work with Miller Davis, since 2019 she has served as Chair of Rowan County Young Professionals, a program of the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, and is one of the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce’s newest board members. . She also served on the Rowan Arts Council Board of Directors for five years, and she is past president of the Salisbury Rowan Choral Society, North Carolina’s longest-running choir.

When she’s not working, Ruf likes to hang out with her “best girlfriend group.” They jokingly call their group “RoCo Boss Babes”. She is a huge proponent of shopping locally and eating at local restaurants. She also likes going to her husband’s races, who works as her parts manager for Reilly MotorSports. She also works as her crew in the pits of a Reilly where she races at the International Motors She Contest Association, where she races sports cars.ny, and Ruf likes to go racing to support him.
