Marco Ivan, also known as GMG Banks, is an aspiring rapper and producer from Mexico, California. As a young child, he lived in Los Angeles, California and was raised in a large family. They listened to all the new hip-hop and pop that was out at the time. Gaining a variety of experiences and moving from place to place, meeting a variety of people, and being in a variety of environments definitely had a positive impact on his life.
As GMG Banks grew up, he acquired a hustler spirit and passion for music. From free styling with his friends, he always had rhymes and bars, which he continued because his friends recognized his talent. Banks started recording music for fun with a microphone from his iPhone. Over time, he began to enjoy freestyling in the streets until he bought a computer and an official microphone. Over time, he began to understand how to use the program and began recording vocals for fun. With no knowledge of production, he began writing music and continued recording in a professional studio, where he recorded his first official single, ‘Make It Clap’. He filmed his first debut music video and released the song and was amazed at how much love he received afterward.
Like any artist, he faced many challenges, but he achieved just as many. He opened his first ever show on Smokepurpp and has garnered over 500,000 streams with his music across all platforms. Although he lost a partner and a friend during his music career, he continued to push forward to realize his dreams, but this was a very difficult time for him.
