Moosejaw, an outdoor retailer, and ICELab, an outdoor-focused accelerator at Western Colorado University (WCU), are seeking startups to join the Moosejaw Outdoor Accelerator.
Important reasons: The outdoor recreation industry is booming in NWA, and a growing number of entrepreneurs are turning to Arkansas’ natural resources for mountain biking, paddling, and caving.
- Business incubators and accelerators like GORP at the University of Arkansas help build networks of outdoor-focused businesses and investors.
detail: Four early-stage companies offering outdoor products or services will be selected for the 8-week free program.
- It will be held for 5 weeks at the WCU campus in Gunnison, Colorado and 1 week in Salt Lake City.
- Moosejaw employees lead sessions on strategy, marketing, e-commerce and retail.
- Participating companies will have the opportunity to launch exclusive sales on Moosejaw’s website and stores.
context: Walmart-owned Moosejaw will open a retail store in downtown Bentonville in 2021. This is his one of only 12 of his stores in the United States.
What to see: Applications will be accepted from companies nationwide until February 2nd.
