Rapper Tory Lanez has been convicted of three counts of firearms in the shooting of hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez’s attorney claimed during the trial that he was actually shot by Kelsey Harris, a close friend of Megan Thee Stallion, during a jealous fight over Lanes.
“She lied all about this case from the beginning,” attorney George Mugdesian said of the hip-hop megastar. He said “dance” before he shot me in the foot.
Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, said last week, “I’m shocked. I’m scared.
“I hear gunshots. I can’t believe he’s shooting me.”
She said the pair’s argument got particularly heated when she started insulting his music.
Harris denied being a shooter and had previously identified Lanez as carrying a gun.
Prosecutors dismissed Mugdesian’s allegations that Megan Thee Stallion had “lyed” and praised her for her courage in coming forward about the case.
Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott said the 27-year-old had endured “a stream of hate” and had been a “victim of domestic violence.”
After the jury left the courtroom, Lanez’s father, Sonster Peterson, stood up and began yelling, pointing at the prosecutor and declaring them “wicked, wicked people.”
He was taken away and kept screaming in the hallway.

Who is Tory Lanez?
Lanez began releasing mixtapes in 2009, eventually transitioning to major label albums.
His last release, Sorry 4 What, debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard charts in September.
One of his previous albums, Daystar, sparked major controversy after its release in September 2020. This is because Lanez used the record to deny allegations that he shot Megan Thee Stallion.
Her success has far surpassed Lanez’s since the incident, including winning a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2021.
She has had number one singles on the Billboard charts and has collaborated with the likes of Beyoncé and Cardi B.
