Quasar Science has released starCTRL, a free iOS app for their Double Rainbow and Rainbow 2 RGBX linear LED fixtures. This allows the user to control the color and effect parameters of up to 6 of her lights from her iPhone or iPad.
starCTRL allows users to remotely adjust Rainbow fixture control parameters, presets and lighting effects via a Bluetooth connection. For rainbow lights in starCTRL mode, the app autodetects all lights.
Three tabs within the app allow you to control all functions. The Controls tab allows you to adjust Intensity, Temperature, Plus/Minus Green, Hue, Saturation, and Output. The Presets tab contains some preconfigured color settings, and the FX tab lets you control built-in lighting effects and parameters to tailor your lighting to your requirements.
Other features of the starCTRL app include the ability to save and recall favorite colors and effects, and drag-and-drop functionality that allows users to create groups and control multiple lights simultaneously. App users can also control fade level and speed parameters for smooth transitions.
starCTRL for Double Rainbow and Rainbow 2 fixtures can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store.
Firmware v0.8 for the Double Rainbow and Rainbow 2 fixtures is available for free download from the Quasar Science website.
