A man was taken into custody Wednesday morning for murdering a colleague at a Hollywood business, officials said.
Officers responded to a marine engine business at 2900 Southwest 42nd Street after being notified by a man that he had killed a person in “self-defense.”
Police found the victim at the scene and pronounced him dead. His identity has not been revealed.
More than an hour later, agents from the Broward Sheriff’s Office took the man into custody at Block 200 of Lock Road in Deerfield Beach. Authorities have not released his identity.
Authorities called it an isolated incident and said the two had a history, but gave few other details. , emphasized that it was not from a gun.
“This was an isolated incident between two people who knew each other and worked together,” Hollywood Police spokesman Christian Lata said.
The investigation into the incident continues.
