The Philadelphia Phillies have officially signed Taiwanese right-hander Pang Wenhui. Alex Coffey Philadelphia Inquirer Paper.
The Phillies gave him $350,000 and $70,000 for college education.
He will start in rookie ball after attending the Phillies’ high-performance camp in the Dominican Republic this month.
Coffey says the young right-hander throws four pitches: a fastball, splitter, slider and curveball. Pitches typically range from 94 to 99 mph.
