Mason City, Iowa – Easy2Show’s Jill and Troy Ilke of Sheffield were named Entrepreneur of the Month for January 2023 by the NIACC John Papajohn Entrepreneurship Center and the North Iowa Area SBDC.
Easy2Show is described as a software company that helps manage Rabbit & Cavy competitions, exhibitors, and clubs in the US and Canada. It provides a patent-pending software process that moves data in more than a linear direction, allowing information to be shared automatically among the three segments. By eliminating manual data entry and utilizing mobile devices to record results, data collection from these events can now be used to drive engagement and sales.
Jill Ihrke enrolled in the NIACC Launch & Grow program in Spring 2017 with the idea of developing a product for the rabbit and small animal industry. After that, Jill was accepted into the ISU Startup Factory, where she developed a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform. The 12-month program included weekly homework, meetings, presentations, and feedback from both her colleagues and professors intensively over her six months.
“We were just launching when COVID shut everything down,” says Jill Ihrke. “Nearly all events have been canceled. There was nothing we could do about it, so we took it as an opportunity to keep working on the software and move forward a bit. We have already reached 25% of the market in the first half of 2022, before we enter the busiest season for our clients, the fall.”
In August 2022, Jill was one of three Northern Iowa entrepreneurs who entered the final round of the 16th Annual John Papajohn Entrepreneurship Venture Competition, ultimately winning an honorable mention. In October 2022, Jill and Troy Ihrke received an Innovation Award at her Pappajohn Entrepreneur Gala.
