Johnstown, Pennsylvania – The Johnstown native has made a career out of rapping.
Naeem Triplin stepped into the world of hip-hop after his brother listened to music inspired by artists such as Kendrick Lamar. Tyler, Creator. A$AP Rocky. And Childish Gambino.

Triplin, who goes by the name Eem Triplin, followed in his brother’s footsteps, making beats in his bedroom and starting uploading them to YouTube, quickly gaining a large following.
“Until this year, I was just making beats,” he said. “Being a percussion player, I feel like being in a band in Johnstown helped me a lot. is born.”
Eventually, Triplin caught the attention of Florida rapper $NOT, became his producer, began traveling with him, and learned more about the business.
But the switch from producer to recording artist was not sudden.
“I was always rapping in between,” Triplin said. “It wasn’t until this year that it really took over.
He started publishing his raps on his YouTube page and says he got a positive response.
“I don’t have words for how to describe myself. It’s still rap, but it’s different because it’s harmonious and has a melody,” Triplin said.
“Only me. It’s about what I personally experienced, where I was and how I felt in that moment, and it’s both a heartbreaking song and a happy song.
In early 2022, he released his first single “Awkward Freestyle”. It has 31 million global streams and is consistently getting his 1.1 million streams per week.
Triplin has since released singles such as “If You Go” and “Let You Know” featuring $NOT.
He also performed at Rolling Loud, known as the world’s largest hip-hop festival.
Additionally, Triplin caught Drake’s attention and performed two of his songs on the Sound 42 SiriusXM radio show. He also mixed his guest for Sound 42.
“My message is to do you – focus on you and be yourself,” he said. “That’s the energy I give off. I want people to feel confident.”
Going forward, Triplin will be heading out with rapper Lucki for a US tour starting in February.
I will also be performing at summer festivals.
Triplin said he plans to release his first album within the next year.
“We want to move things forward and reach a wider audience,” he said.
