As the old year ends and the new begins, the annual review of the “biggest story of the year” or “most important event” appears like a mushroom in the dark, damp Alabama soil.
This year’s midterm elections got a lot of attention. But the chaos called the Alabama Department of Corrections, Congress’ brutal efforts to criminalize the treatment of transgender teens, the usual corrupt politicians, and the Alabama Crimson Tide are turning college football national. His failure to qualify for the competition was certainly among a bevy of other notable news.2022.
Instead of reviewing, I would like to try the preview. So here are some of the stories many of us are expecting from him in 2023. Please wait…

Toward the end of 2023Katie Britt will surprise everyone as she takes root in the U.S. Senate by rejecting the least common multiple that helped Republicans win the Senate. I knew I was going to be a Republican, but at least I made myself an independent-thinking Republican.
we thought. But you wouldn’t know that from her campaign. .
Ride the wave of hate to the US Senate. It was despicable.
But the Brit won, so now I’m doing my best. Indeed, of all Republicans, she was the most promising for the Senate. But can she deliver?
I think the story we’re going to see is more about Brits as Alabama’s leader than “hate” Brits. The senior senator is Florida resident and unsuccessful soccer coach Tommy Tuberville. She shouldn’t have to do much to coach Senator Tubby.
And Britt had a good chance of winning before doing all the shit in her campaign.

leadership in The Alabama Department of Corrections, under the specific direction of Gov. Kay Ivey, will not only address where inmate deaths are concerned, but also how the state can competently put people to death without the slightest bit of torture first. , will be completely transparent.
Prisons, in any state, are easy to ignore. They warehouse people we don’t want to see around us so we don’t have to think about them. But the question is whether the state has the right to kill them.
we are the state Many of us do not want the state to kill people in our name. It’s a lot cheaper for taxpayers to keep really violent criminals in jail. If there is karma, I think it’s that the officials in charge of killing people don’t seem to get it right. Let’s hope they don’t.
Ivey declares a permanent moratorium on the death penalty in Alabama after demanding that the Department of Corrections release all papers. Ivey doesn’t have to worry about political retaliation. She is serving her final term. She really managed to make some key decisions that show Alabama moving forward constructively.

story (story) But if Republicans are smart and haven’t shown any signs that they’re really smart, next year will no doubt mark the end of the Trump era.
Trump will always have a base of supporters. A demagogue always has a madman following him. But there are rational people in the Republican Party. Katie Britt comes to mind. Perhaps those few people will steer the party in a more constructive way.
But whether Republicans change or not, Trump faces the consequences of his corruption and racism, xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny, and a failed coup. As a cliché, chickens come home to their roost. And Trump has chicken poop all over him.
Trump’s expiring appointment—I’m a cliché, remember—is going to pay Piper. I’m not the kind of person who kicks a big orange bad guy when he’s down. Trump left a trail of destruction that the leaders of this country are still trying to sort out. It will take some time.
That said, it won’t take long to see Trump’s legal troubles continue to mount. Expect an indictment and subsequent conviction.
I know. i’m a dreamer. But imagine without Trump. It’s not so easy to do. But this time the reality may be better than imagined.
This next year will tell us. Happy new year!
