In short, everything.When I’m back here as an editor Santa Cruz Weeklyafter seven years of not covering the field, it was the beginning of a true creative renewal for me. good times Years later, some people were skeptical. GT A truly well-loved local institution. But some were excited to see what we could bring, including gaining local ownership for the first time in decades. But long before that, I started hearing encouraging feedback.
I think both our news and cultural coverage are getting better every year — and then the pandemic hit. By the fall of 2020, he had two emergencies: Covid and the CZU fires, and a significant Black Lives Matter social movement. We were live-blogging news on all three non-stop and had the most news coverage in the history of the newspaper.but there was so much Nonstop, covering the first time we really didn’t know if we were doing the right job. I was stunned and even more grateful for the staff’s incredible dedication during the most difficult times.
We have now won that award three years in a row and are very proud of what we have achieved.Thank you to all the wonderful people we have had the opportunity to work with. . GT and in the community.
