The city can seek input from existing theater, entertainment and event planning organizations to see if there is a need for such a large outdoor venue somewhere in San Diego.
At its most successful, the Starlight Bowl staged performances under quieter propeller planes, and airports were less crowded than they are today. Busier flight operations and jets make the location unsuitable as an entertainment venue. If so, how do we pay for it, maintain it, and manage it without relying heavily on taxpayer assistance?
