Lindiwe Matrali identifies young innovators from disadvantaged backgrounds
I am very excited today because it is really important to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators at the World Economic Forum. We want to explore ways to create a pipeline of young global shapers and global leaders as soon as possible. Additionally, looking at children from underprivileged communities, he hopes to raise them so that one day he will be given the opportunity to participate in the WEF. We are also looking at ways to democratize access to influence, access to power, and access to resources for poor children.
Winner of the 2022 Schwab Foundation Social Innovation Award
It was really exciting. I didn’t think I could win. As a person of strong faith, I thought it was God’s intervention and God’s hand. Therefore, I am always humbled by all the opportunities and platforms that God has given me to give back.
Opportunities offered through Schwab
The Social Innovation team provided us with the opportunity to meet people who could help us. Her just-signed partnership with WEF UpLink will help create an innovation accelerator to support the next generation of young entrepreneurs and innovators. It has opened many wonderful doors that I never dreamed of. I’m really humbled and excited about it.
