Jordan Brand has teamed up with the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation to auction off this very limited edition of 23 pairs. Air Jordan XIII “Christopher Wallace” PE To mark the start of the “Jordan Year”.
It was originally created in 2017 to celebrate Biggie’s 45th birthday, but was kept until 2023 to celebrate hip-hop’s 50th anniversary.
In black and anthracite, this highly unusual Air Jordan XIII features imagery and phrases that honor the infamous B.I.G., his legacy, and the icon’s beliefs and determination.
Wallace’s silhouette is featured on both tongues, while the classic red and black flannel pattern that’s synonymous with Notorious BIG runs across the sockliner and insole. His tongue tag features the infamous phrases “It was all a dream” and “If you don’t know, now you know”, while his metal aglet features the word “dream”.
Sotheby’s online auction will run from today until February 3rd, with shoes estimated at between US$2,300 and US$5,200. All proceeds go to the Christopher Wallace His Memorial Foundation. The Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation aims to empower inner-city youth through educational learning tools, sponsorships, grants, and community-based mentorship programs and campaigns. ”
