Fresno, California (KFSN) — The Northwest Fresno Pottery business is reaching out to develop the youth in our community.
Clay is the beginning of every experience at Good Dirt Pottery Studios in northwest Fresno. The owners have recently expanded their operations to serve their growing customer base.
It has been almost two years since its launch and is now focused on fostering foster parents.
Good Dirt Pottery co-owner Jorden Collins says, “A little bit of clay can make a difference in their lives.
Jorden Collins is one of the founders of Good Dirt Pottery Studio.
She was impressed that their dream of providing business and service to others was becoming a reality.
The two co-owners launched the Good Dirt Collective with Kasey Jackson.
“We want to go out into the community and tell people about the foster care crisis in our area and what they can do to help. One of those is the Hope Experience.
People can sponsor children and families with monthly boxes.
“You meet with that family and show up every month with a box of wishes. I will,” said Jackson.
They are accepting financial donations for the program and need foster mentors as well.
All three women are foster parents.
“The Good Dirt Collective’s motto is that everyone needs good soil to grow. We believe that if you give your children the right soil, they will thrive and grow as they were meant to. ‘ said Good Dirt Pottery co-owner.
A greater calling to love and support foster youth.
To date, this program has helped over 30 foster youth in our community. They teach everything from hands-on lessons to mentoring. We hope to do more to help in the future.
