(NewsNation) — The financial firm that lent to small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic is donating $50,000 to a Milwaukee-based nonprofit to help culinary entrepreneurs make their dreams come true .
Cross River Bank in Fort Lee, New Jersey provides grants to Upstart Kitchen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. These two of him were actually in a relationship during the pandemic. Miriam Wallach, Head of Social Responsibility at Cross River Bank, said in Morning in America:
What Upstart does is provide those interested in the food industry with access to resources such as state-of-the-art commercial kitchens, said Bishop Walter Harvey, president emeritus of Prism EDC. Prism EDC is the company that runs his Upstart.
“We provide them with the resources, training, and community to create wealth for generations to come,” Harvey said. “[We]don’t just teach people how to fish or give them fish, they let them own a piece of the pie.”
