Kootenay entrepreneurs are invited to participate in the Small Business BC Awards contest for a $40,000 cash prize.

There are 4 categories and companies can enter 2 in total. Premier’s People’s Choice Award and his one in three business pitch categories (Business Impact, E-Commerce and Youth). The Premier’s People’s Choice Awards are determined by popular vote only. In the three business pitch categories, the top five finalists will be chosen based on public votes and written responses by internal business experts. Finalists will pitch their business to a panel of BC Business Leaders who will determine the winner for each award category.
Each winner will receive a cash prize of $10,000, a top business title, and one year of free advisory support from SBBC.
Over 6,000 businesses from across the state competed to be named one of the top small businesses.
And the Kootenay family business is doing well in the competition. Nelson’s two businesses, Enercheez and Mandala Homes, were his 2019 and his 2016 finalists, and Creston’s 2019 Sue’s Clothingline was also a finalist.
“For the past 20 years, SBBC has put the spotlight on BC entrepreneurs and celebrated those who risked everything to pursue their dreams.” We are excited to be back at the in-person celebration to share the $40,000 prize pool, and invite the public to nominate small businesses that have impacted their communities to make this year’s most inspiring awards yet .”
