Henderson (KTNV) — A local business owner connected with this week’s Super Bowl LVIII Host Committee at a networking event Wednesday at Raiders headquarters in Henderson.
The event was an invitation-only event and provided information about the program and a networking event for local organizations and various businesses. Companies were offered the opportunity to win contracts with the commission to work during 10 major events and games associated with the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl LVIII Business Connect event provided an opportunity to engage with more than 200 diverse business owners in Las Vegas, according to a news release about the event.
According to officials, companies invited to the event had to be at least 50% “diverse,” including veterans, women, minorities, LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities. Companies eligible to participate in this program have access to subcontracting opportunities, networking events, and professional development resources.
NFL Business Connect lead BJ Waymer says he understands the importance of supporting all businesses.
“That’s important to us because we want to be able to create opportunities for everyone in the market,” Weimer said. ”
About a dozen companies have been offered contracts, which are expected to be announced by the end of March.
