The Patriots lost at home to the Bengals on Saturday and should have lost quarterback Mac Jones in the Week 17 game.
In case you missed it, Jones went low on Bengals DB Eli Apple during what appeared to be a fumbling recovery by Cincinnati. The referee blew the whistle for the end of play, which he ruled was a deliberate grounding by Jones.
Jones’ play made no sense at all. Because Apple was far behind the returnee and didn’t need to kick him out the way Jones kicked him out.
Watch play and judge for yourself.
What was Jones trying to achieve there? It was just dirty play and he should be suspended by the NFL.
We learned from reports Monday that the league is investigating the hit and may fine Jones, but it doesn’t appear a suspension is being considered.
It’s NFL garbage. Suspension must be on the table as he could very easily hurt Apple with that ugly blow.
Just look at these four dirty plays he’s made so far in his short career.
This kind of play cannot keep happening. A second-year QB deserves a severe penalty, but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Many NFL fans criticized Jones and called for a quarterback suspension.
