In January, only the House stands between the Democrats’ attacks on liberty, families, the economy, and national security, and the Americans. The next speaker must be a true warrior committed to thwarting the Left’s radical agenda by any means necessary.
During my first two years in Congress, hundreds of voters have urged me not to endorse House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Yet I have told town hall events and media interviews that I judge him by what he did in his first two years in Congress. I appreciate his commitment to genuinely conservative principles, and his willingness to change the way Congress empowers regular lawmakers.
Minority House Republicans needed a united focus to win a majority in 2022. Beginning with my 2020 orientation, and many times since, minority leader McCarthy promised to use every procedural tool at his disposal to block the radical Democratic agenda. . But it didn’t. Rather, we were at the mercy of the majority and Americans suffered under the most extreme Leftist policies ever enacted. He never rallied Republicans to defeat a Democratic bill passed as a so-called “suspension” bill. He failed to leverage the National Defense Authorization Act, which must be passed, to block Biden’s policies that are undermining the U.S. military. He didn’t vote against a bogus infrastructure bill that focused more on climate change than on roads and bridges.

Unfortunately, Kevin McCarthy did nothing to earn my endorsement during these two years as a minority leader. During her audition to be a public speaker, when Nancy Pelosi was at her weakest moment when the progressive caucus and “squad” threatened her from her most extreme left flank, he lifted her chair. Ignored her conservative pleas to vacate. Again and again, McCarthy fought to use the power of our rare minority to fight for what he promised Republican voters.
When conservatives urged him to fight the Democratic agenda, the mantra he repeated was “We have a plan.” But over the past two years, the plan has not come to fruition. In fact, his plan was to invest precious resources in defeating conservatives in the primary.
The next speaker vote isn’t just about defeating McCarthy in January and electing a better leader. This has hit a swamp cartel of one-party dictatorships, turned against conservatives, resented supportive voters, and resisted empowering individual members to hold power in the hands of a few elites. It’s about defeating the Republican system that does.
We must elect speakers who will restore financial sanity and use the power of their wallets as leverage to defend the tyranny of governments that they campaign against. We need to elect a speaker who will provide effective oversight of the federal government’s weaponization of conservatives. We must choose speakers who pursue genuinely conservative policy agendas.
To save our republic, we must change the way Congress works. This includes reforming the rules so that only bills supported by a majority of Republicans are brought to the floor. There is a single issue law and a minimum amount of time to consider a bill before voting on it. Allows representatives to submit amendments to the House. End the ear tag vote-buying practice. A recorded vote is required. Allow committee members to elect a chairperson. Restore speaker accountability by reverting the motion to vacate the chair.
Nothing will help Democrats more than electing a speaker who will maintain the status quo and not challenge the agenda. A true conservative leader will have the courage to be the wall between the American people and the flood of horrific policies that continue under the Biden administration.
Clearly, there are more than enough members who have decided not to support McCarthy that he will not get the 218 votes needed to become chairman. posted a job opening on November 15 when he got only 188 votes for him. We represent the conservative center of the Republican convention and the voters who elected us, and we are a powerful voter who can reach the 218 vote threshold and lead us in the fight to stop the Biden-Schumer agenda. A leader can be elected.
Instead of the voters who sent us to Washington, we must elect the right leader for our party and country. Don’t accept the wrong choice: McCarthy or worse. We know what we have in McCarthy and it’s the same as failing the country. I am looking for the best that I have to do.
Polls show that more than 70% of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, and less than 20% indicate they approve of Congress, which is why we’re doing it now. It’s clear that things aren’t working. You cannot maintain the status quo and expect a different outcome.
Americans need brave conservative leaders in the House who can lead and unite us in the fight against the Biden agenda. For Republican meetings, for Congress, and for the country. Let’s hope that Republican leaders will listen to voters and vote for change on January 3rd.
