Aluva’s sophomore MBA, Amina S., was inspired by a combination of factors to take her UK-based cosmetics course online.
First, there was the pandemic that kept her at home, and then there was the bad experience she had with the cosmetics she was using. I finished the course in a month and have since launched multiple skin care products.
“It started as a hobby and got a good response from the clients who used it and now it has been converted into a business. It continues to be our primary vehicle for getting a lot of clients,” she said.
Amina is one of the women entrepreneurs who will be presenting their products at Kochi Pop-Up, a one-day trade show on February 4th at the Highway Gardens Convention Center near Edapally.
“We are planning to open stores by 100 female entrepreneurs, and we are also focusing on housewives and students who do not have a physical store and have little exposure outside of SNS. The aim is to raise awareness of products and brands,” said Shafrin Sajith, a housewife whose entrepreneurial initiative Invisible Wings has organized the event for the past five years.
The event logo was recently unveiled by Industry Minister P. Rajeeve.
