No, it’s the other Paris.
Having just broadcast two Olympic Games in less than six months, NBCUniversal is already gearing up for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. And who better to promote Paris than another?
During Saturday’s broadcast of the NFL Wildcard game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars, NBCU launched a marketing campaign with a 20-second spot featuring Paris Hilton.
As she walks through the extravagant rooms and opens the door to the terrace, the spot opens with Hilton’s silhouette.
“Next summer, the world will be watching…” narrates, before Hilton turns around and concludes with “Paris.”
A fast-action sequence then highlights the Olympic athletes and Paris landmarks before revealing the 2024 Olympics logo and returning to the Hilton.
“Oh, another Paris,” she quipped.
NBCU has a history of facilitating coverage of the Olympics by leveraging the NFL’s massive viewership, including airing the Winter Olympics after Super Bowl 56 in 2022. And although the Summer Olympics won’t start for him until July 26, 2024, the NFL playoff games were the perfect starting point.
“Our Olympic promotion never stops. It’s part of NBCUniversal’s DNA,” said Jenny Storms, NBCUniversal’s CMO of Entertainment and Sports, in a statement. “The reach and scale of the NFL playoffs are consistent with the beginning of our commitment to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”
A version of the promotion, created internally by NBCU, will run across the company’s platforms, including linear, streaming, digital and social media, over the next few months. In addition, Hilton’s media company, 11:11 Media, will also highlight the campaign across digital channels and on Hilton’s personal social media platforms.
11:11 Media CMO Krystal Hauserman said: “At 11:11 Media, we are dedicated to creating fun and relevant moments that sit at the epicenter of pop culture.”
As for Hilton, the prominent entrepreneur is “thrilled” to partner with NBC to help unveil the Paris 2024 logo.
“The Olympics are so iconic and of course Paris is one of my favorite cities. It was really special to be part of the exciting countdown to the 2024 Olympics.
NBCUniversal will broadcast the 2024 Paris Olympics (July 26-August 11) and the 2024 Paralympic Games (August 28-September 8) on network and streaming service Peacock, and will broadcast in 2032. Retains U.S. media rights to the game up to
