Polokwane – “I think hip-hop incorporates artistic elements and comments on life and the world. That’s why hip-hop is a way of life and a culture for me.”
A video and music producer, the 23-year-old has won several state awards since entering the industry in 2013.
He has 20 singles, 2 mixtapes and 1 album to his name and has worked with AB Crazy, Mizo Phyll, Kashflow, Sense 2.0, Maze, McSwagga, Mac J and many more.
Mike says people don’t realize how much work goes into being successful in the industry.
“People tend to admire how hip-hop artists “ball” (spend money), but how much work actually goes into building this lifestyle to reach the top? or do not understand what is being done. Everyone has their own way of getting profit and success. We are not all the same, so it takes time,” he said.
Mike said that if you believe in yourself, dedication and hard work pushed you forward and encouraged the up-and-coming artist to let no one down.
He told the Polokwane Observer that most hip-hop artists focus on money, women and success, with some whose music revolves around happiness in life.
“Before I became an artist, I listened to many different genres, but my first love has always been R&B and hip-hop.
Mike has also shared the stage with the likes of A-Reece, Sjava, Maraza and Una Rams, and wants to play at Back to the City Festival and Castle Lite Unlocks Festival.
