Milwaukee — 35 families enjoyed the 8th annual Three Kings event hosted by Milwaukee Police District 2 and Latino National Law Enforcement.
Capt. Patrick Padjot said he was gathering families affected by crime and financial hardships for a fun afternoon.
“There are a lot of different booths,” says Pajot. “Arts and crafts, face painting, selfie booths, haircuts for kids. We give each child a big gift basket.”
Ron Cutiño attended the event with his family and said it meant a lot to local law enforcement to host it.
“They are also realistic,” says Cutiño. “They also have a human side. They are able to express their passion for their work and the people in their community.”
Cutiño said it shows how important it is for young people to grow.
“This shows that children are very important,” Cutinho said. “They are the next generation. There is nothing better for children than having a family.”
The COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the event, but according to MPD, things are pretty much back to normal this year. Pajot hopes his Three Kings event in District 2 will continue to support families like Cutinhos.
