Moroccan police on Monday arrested six migrants from sub-Saharan Africa for their involvement in “violence against law enforcement officers” during an evacuation operation at a migrant camp in Casablanca, local media reported.
According to the Hespress News website, the suspect “threw stones at law enforcement officers” who were conducting an evacuation operation from an illegal migrant camp near the Vlad Zian bus station in the metropolitan Casablanca.
According to the state-run SNRTnews website, one police officer was injured and five police vehicles were damaged as a result of the violence.
Police were unable to confirm the incident.
The Moroccan Human Rights Association (AMDH) condemned “violence” during Monday’s deportation of migrants.

Until 2019, this district was home to one of the largest and last illegal migrant camps in Morocco.
