BALTIMORE, Md. (January 3, 2023) – Morgan State University’s Intercollegiate Athletic Division announced the appointment of Dr. Sierra Hobbs as Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine. She oversees her staff of eight.

Dr. Hobbs comes to Morgan State University after spending six months as Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine at Clark Atlanta University. She also spent time as an athletic her trainer at Source Fitness Management and from February 2022 she provided sports medicine services at the secondary school level until July 2022.
“I was truly speechless when I was named Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine at Morgan State University,” said Dr. Hobbs. “It is a tremendous honor and privilege to be given this opportunity. I am excited to bring my many years of clinical and administrative expertise to the growing sports medicine department. am.”
From May 2021 to February 2022, Dr. Hobbes served nine months as chair of sports medicine at Alabama State University. During her time at Alabama State University, she oversaw all aspects of the university’s sports medicine department, college and rehab relationships with her associates, and served as the primary liaison with her team and her doctor.
Prior to Alabama, he was an outreach athletic trainer at Virginia Commonwealth University Health and Sports Medicine in Richmond, Virginia, providing athletic training services to Virginia Union University. During her time at the Virginia Union, Dr. Hobbes covered multiple sports, including football, women’s basketball, track and field, cross country, and softball.
Prior to VCU Health, she worked at Fayetteville State University (2018-19) as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, covering all 12 college sports with a primary focus on soccer and women’s basketball.
Prior to moving to Fayetteville State University, she was an athletic trainer at San Marino High School in California, primarily in football and women’s varsity soccer.
A native of Long Beach, California, she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from North Carolina Central in 2010 before completing a Master of Science in Kinesiology in California with a focus on sports medicine and injury research. got the number. She graduated cum laude from Beach State University in 2017.
In June 2022, Dr. Hobbs received his PhD in Athletic Training from AT Still University with an emphasis on Leadership Education and Orthopedic Surgery.
