Milwaukee — Be careful where you park in Milwaukee on Monday night.
The Milwaukee City Department of Public Works said the snow emergency will continue through Tuesday morning.
Where can I park?
No parking on Main Street between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM during the snow emergency. Alternate side parking will be enabled on side streets from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Click here to view a map of parking restrictions.
On Monday nights, all drivers parking on a side street in Milwaukee must move their vehicles to the even side of the street by 10 p.m.
All parked vehicles, including tram routes and other roadways, must be “curbed and out of the flow of traffic”.
City officials noted that posted road signs take precedence and encouraged drivers to read all road signs for winter parking instructions before choosing a parking spot.
City officials also said some Milwaukee Public Schools parking lots will be open to the public during the snow emergency on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. Click here for available locations. please.
What happens if I break the rules?
Violation of emergency snow parking rules will result in a fine of $50 for the first violation, $100 for the second violation, and $150 for the third violation. According to DPW, your car could be towed from his third offense.
A DPW spokesperson said, “Towing may occur for reasons such as private property complaints, blocking or obstruction. For example, someone is parked in front of the driveway.” We did not tow a vehicle considering it was a snow emergency in [on Sunday night] for [having three or more snow emergency violations in the winter season].”
If you are towing a vehicle, you must bring a valid driver’s license to the 2 car parks. If you do not have a driver’s license, you must bring a valid state-issued photo ID and be accompanied by someone with a valid driver’s license. In addition, you must present proof of calid vehicle liability insurance. If someone wants to pick up your vehicle, they must have title to the vehicle, a valid driver’s license, and written notice from the owner authorizing the vehicle to be picked up. The letter should include the vehicle’s color, make, model, VIN, license plate number, and tow number.
Tow fees start at $105. Full payment is required before returning the car. Personal checks are not accepted, but you can pay with cash, exact amount money orders, exact amount checks, and Mastercard’s Visa.
The tow yard is located at 3811 West Lincoln Avenue in Milwaukee. The lot is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Closed on Sundays.
