When the officer arrived on the scene, he encountered an individual who allowed the officer inside the residence. While at the residence, officers found a 75-year-old woman dead. The Milwaukee County Coroner’s Office identified her as Dorothy Douglas. Officers then attempted to detain the suspect and a struggle ensued.

“During the struggle, the suspect was armed with a pole and weights, and again during the struggle, officers issued multiple orders to the suspect to drop his weapon, which the suspect refused,” Norman said. .

The suspect, a 31-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken to hospital for treatment for non-fatal injuries.
