Milwaukee — Many travelers spent Christmas Eve trying to get to their loved ones in time for Christmas.
Ryan Daniels was waiting for his luggage after landing at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport.
To get from Washington, DC to Milwaukee in time during a winter storm, Daniels had to change plans.
“It was originally scheduled for yesterday, but due to the storm we decided to change the flight to today earlier in the week,” Daniels said. “Yes, our flight was delayed by an hour or so. The flight was very easy, no troubles, no turbulence, nothing.”
Daniels said she was grateful to be in town just hours before Christmas.
“My in-laws live here in Milwaukee, so it was very important for me to make sure they got here on time and were home to spend time with their family.

Kelsey Brenner’s travel experience in Madison, on the other hand, was quite different. She had more obstacles.
“It’s getting a little rough. Yesterday’s flight was cancelled, so I’m back for a second try. We’re four hours late at the moment, so we’ll see how it goes,” Brenner said.
But Brenner said he remained optimistic that he would make it to Atlanta in time.
Brenner also said he believed he was in luck. Her friend Puja Trip was waiting on the same flight.
“We plan to travel a lot and it’s very important to come home for a few days just to see family that we haven’t seen in a while,” Brenner said. “I haven’t seen mine in a while, so nice to see them.”
Brenner’s friend Trip hasn’t seen his family in a while either.
“…I live far away so I have to take all my vacations and the chance to see them, so it’s very important that I get there this weekend,” Trip said.
Daniels said Christmas is a great time to make new memories.
“I’m looking forward to sitting around the fireplace, opening presents, enjoying good food and conversation, and catching up with everyone,” Daniels said. .”
