Technology giant Microsoft is reportedly adding OpenAI writing technology to Office, giving users a way to create text for their projects by incorporating AI technology into the app.
The company wants to incorporate artificial intelligence created by OpenAI into Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, and other apps, reports The Information, citing sources.
According to reports, this allows users to flesh out their documents with auto-generated stretches of text based on their prompts.
In addition, this may also include AI-generated emails that are crafted based on what the user wants to convey to the recipient.
Engineers and researchers at Microsoft have been using OpenAI’s machine learning models for more than a year to create personalized AI tools for creating emails and documents, the report says.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has also started testing a new feature called Teams Chat. It will soon be integrated into Outlook.
According to the software giant, the feature will be available to all users in March 2023.
This feature provides a simple Teams chat experience from Outlook in the context of a meeting for participants to send quick messages and review chats.
This feature allows attendees and hosts to use chat integration to discuss meetings in real time instead of emailing back and forth.
