A strangely timed social media exchange between Jim Harbaugh and Michigan rocked the college football world on Thursday as speculation swirled over the future of college football coaches.
This past week has been a whirlwind for Michigan as the program deals with the NCAA investigation and rumors that Harbaugh may return to the NFL. Last Thursday, Harbaugh tried to silence his chatter by announcing that he expected “he’ll be coaching Michigan enthusiastically in 2023.”
However, since Harbaugh’s announcement, there has been no confirmation from longtime coaches or the school that he will remain in Ann Arbor for the long term. but did not fall short of providing a real update on the current situation.

Interestingly, the Michigan Football Twitter account shared a statement from Harbaugh at exactly the same time, saying it “fully endorses” Ono’s tweets to Wolverine devotees.
“I fully support President Ono’s message to the fans and thank him for his support to me and the team,” Harbaugh said.
The back-to-back non-renewal was enough to anger the CFB community, given that Harbaugh essentially stood by Ono’s support and said nothing more. And, as you might imagine, the Wolverines were quick to point out that their attempt to show solidarity with their coaches backfired in the worst possible way, as onlookers began to wonder what the reason for either tweet was.
